Find a Rockdale County Inmate and Check Current Booking Details

For a Rockdale County Jail inmate search, start with the inmate lookup linked by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO). It is the right starting point for checking whether someone has been booked into the county jail before you call, send money, mail correspondence or arrange bond.

Information checked October 18, 2026. Jail custody, bond status and service rules can change, so use the live RCSO system for the final status check.

Jail phoneRCSO currently lists 770-278-8265; the Georgia Department of Corrections facility directory also lists 770-278-8200.
Public visitationRemote at-home visits through Securus; onsite visitation is currently reserved for attorneys.
Do not send ordinary personal inmate mail to the jail street address. RCSO changed its mail process on February 10, 2025. Personal correspondence is now sent to a JailATM scanning address in Atlanta, shown below.

How to Search the Rockdale County Jail Roster

  1. Open the RCSO inmate lookup. Use the official button above or go through the Sheriff’s Quick Links page and select “Inmate Lookup.”
  2. Search with the person’s legal name. Use the spelling most likely entered during booking. Avoid relying only on a nickname.
  3. Start with a broad search. If a full-name search returns nothing, try fewer fields or the surname alone. This is useful when a middle name, suffix or hyphen is recorded differently.
  4. Open the most likely record. Compare the name and available booking identifiers before assuming the result belongs to the person you want.
  5. Review the current booking. Look for available custody, booking, charge and bond information. The exact fields shown can vary by record and stage of processing.
  6. Verify anything time-sensitive. A bond, hold, transfer or release status can change after court action or jail processing. Recheck the live record before paying money or traveling to the jail.
Very recent arrest? A person may not become searchable immediately while intake, identification and booking are still being completed. A missing result shortly after an arrest does not automatically mean the person was released.

What the Inmate Lookup Can Help You Confirm

InformationWhy it matters
Correct inmate identityHelps avoid confusing two people with similar names.
Current or relevant bookingShows which jail admission you are reviewing.
Custody informationHelps determine whether county-jail procedures are still appropriate.
Listed chargesIdentifies allegations connected with the booking; a charge is not proof of guilt.
Bond information, when availableHelps you determine whether to review RCSO bonding procedures or contact the jail.
Booking identifiersUseful when speaking with jail staff, sending funds or confirming a record.

The jail roster is primarily a custody and booking resource. It should not be treated as a complete criminal-court history. For case filings, hearings or dispositions, use the Rockdale County court system after identifying the correct person and case.

If You Cannot Find the Person

Work through these checks before concluding that the person is not in custody:

  • Check the spelling and use the full legal surname rather than a nickname.
  • Try a broader search with fewer fields.
  • Allow time for a new arrest to finish booking.
  • Confirm that the arrest actually occurred in Rockdale County.
  • Consider whether the person has already bonded out, been released or transferred.
  • Call Inmate Affairs at 770-278-8209 if an inmate-service question cannot be resolved online.
  • If the person was sentenced and moved into Georgia state custody, use the Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender search instead of the county roster.

Rockdale sits in metro Atlanta, so confirming the county of arrest is important. If the incident may have occurred outside Rockdale, these verified internal guides can help:

Bonding an Inmate Out of Rockdale County Jail

RCSO publishes several bonding methods. Do not pay anyone until you have confirmed the correct inmate, current bond and any other holds affecting release.

Bond methodCurrent RCSO procedure
Cash bondRCSO states that cash or a cashier’s check equal to the total bond amount may be used.
Property bondRockdale County improved real estate may qualify. Mobile homes are not treated as improved real estate for this process.
Professional bonding companyRCSO publishes a list of bonding companies authorized to write bonds for the Sheriff’s Office and states it does not recommend one company over another.
Online paymentRCSO currently lists GovPayNet and Cash Bond Online. Its GovPayNet payment location code is 6347.

Property bond details: RCSO accepts property bonds during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., excluding holidays. For Rockdale property, everyone listed on the deed must appear to sign. Current ownership, tax and mortgage documentation is required, and the Sheriff states that real-estate equity must be at least twice the bond value. A title search is required for bonds of $25,000 or more. RCSO also lists a $20 cash bond fee with exact change for a property bond.

If property is located in another Georgia county, the owner must work with the Sheriff’s Office where that property is located for an out-of-county property bond.

City of Conyers cash bonds: RCSO instructs that cash bonds for the City of Conyers be paid directly to Municipal Court at 1194 Scott Street, Conyers, GA 30012.

For current procedures and the authorized bonding-company list, use the official RCSO bonding page.

RCSO Jail Division does not process bond refunds. After a case is settled, bond-return questions are directed to the Rockdale County Clerk of Courts at 770-278-7900, 922 Court Street NE, Conyers, GA 30012.

Rockdale County Inmate Visitation

Family and friend visitation is currently conducted remotely through Securus Video Connect. RCSO states that onsite visitation is currently reserved for attorneys.

  1. Create an account through Securus.
  2. Allow about 24 hours for approval by RCSO Inmate Affairs.
  3. After approval, schedule the available remote session.

RCSO says a visit can be scheduled beginning 24 hours after the inmate has been booked.

DayNormal remote visitation hours published by RCSO
Monday–Friday5:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m.

Visits are monitored. RCSO prohibits nudity, gang signs, driving during a visit, prohibited third parties, inappropriate clothing and other rule violations. The person who schedules the visit must be present.

For scheduling problems, call Inmate Affairs at 770-278-8209. RCSO also lists Securus customer service at 1-800-844-6591. Review the current RCSO visitation rules before the visit.

How to Send Money or Buy Commissary

Inmates with available funds can purchase commissary items using the jail kiosk system in their housing area. RCSO currently provides three practical ways for family or friends to fund an inmate account:

  • Online: use JailATM.
  • Jail lobby kiosk: RCSO says cash can be deposited at the jail lobby kiosk.
  • Mail: a money order or cashier’s check may be mailed with the inmate’s name clearly included.

RCSO also says web packs can be ordered through its JailATM vendor. Indigent kits are provided to inmates who have no funds.

Verify the inmate first. Confirm the correct name and booking before sending money. Vendor transactions can be difficult to reverse if funds are applied to the wrong person.

RCSO states that inmates receive shower shoes, a hygiene kit and a jumpsuit on intake. Additional hygiene products and clothing are obtained through commissary rather than being brought in by family members.

Correct Rockdale County Inmate Mailing Address

RCSO changed personal inmate mail processing effective February 10, 2025. Personal inmate correspondence is scanned into the inmate’s JailATM communication account.

Personal inmate mail JailATM.com – Rockdale County Jail
Inmate Name / Inmate Number
925B Peachtree St. NE, Box 2062
Atlanta, GA 30309

RCSO says bulk mail such as numerous large scanned copies or copied internet pages will not be accepted.

Legal mail: mail from an attorney of record continues to be accepted at the facility. It must be clearly marked Private Legal Mail and include the inmate’s name and cell location. Personal correspondence mixed into legal or business mail can be destroyed under the published jail procedure.

Money orders: RCSO states that money orders continue to be accepted at the facility when the inmate’s name and “Money Order” are written on the front.

Books and publications: RCSO Inmate Services says books, magazines and newspapers must come from a publisher or bookseller. Hardcover books are not accepted. Eyeglasses must have plastic rather than metal frames.

Always check the official inmate-mail procedure before mailing anything because correctional mail vendors and screening rules can change.

First Appearance, Court Records and Case Status

A jail booking and a criminal court case are related but are not the same record. Once you identify the correct booking, use Rockdale court resources when you need hearings, filings or later case activity.

RCSO’s current First Appearance page states that Monday and Wednesday hearings are in person, while Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday hearings are virtual, with a listed start time of 9:30 a.m. The Sheriff also says members of the public must obtain authorization from the Magistrate Court before attending.

Confirm before attending. Rockdale County’s separate Magistrate Court calendar publishes location-specific first-appearance times that do not completely match the simplified RCSO schedule, including a different Wednesday listing. Call the Magistrate Court at 770-278-7800 before traveling to a hearing.

For court information beyond the jail roster, use the Rockdale County Records Inquiry, which provides options for criminal case records, civil/family/probate cases and court calendars.

The Rockdale County Courthouse is at 922 Court Street, Conyers, GA 30012. The Clerk of Superior and State Courts can be reached at 770-278-7900.

Need an Older Arrest, Incident or Sheriff Record?

The live inmate lookup is the best starting point for present jail custody. For records that are no longer useful or available through the live roster, use the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Open Records process.

RCSO accepts in-person Open Records requests at 911 Chambers Drive, Conyers, GA 30012, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., excluding county holidays. Requests are processed during regular business hours.

Record/serviceCurrent RCSO fee
Incident report10¢ per page
Accident report$5 per report/copy
Body cam or dash cam$10 per video plus processing fees
Background check$20; card surcharge may apply

Accepted payment methods listed by RCSO include exact cash, debit/credit cards, qualifying business checks, certified checks and money orders. Personal checks are not accepted.

Start at the RCSO Open Records Request page. The Sheriff notes that 911 CAD and call-history records are handled separately by Rockdale County rather than the Sheriff’s Records Unit.

Use Jail Records Responsibly

A booking, arrest or criminal charge does not establish that someone committed a crime. Charges can be dismissed, amended or resolved differently after court proceedings. Use the jail roster to answer custody and booking questions, and use the appropriate court record when you need a case outcome.
