Find an Oklahoma County Jail Inmate and Check Current Custody

If someone was recently arrested in Oklahoma City or elsewhere in Oklahoma County, start with the Oklahoma County Detention Center (OCDC) official inmate search. It is the correct place to check people currently held in Oklahoma County jail custody.

Fastest route: Search the official roster using the person’s correct legal name. Once you find the record, note the booking or inmate number before checking bond, court information, mail, phone, commissary or other jail services.

Information reviewed October 15, 2026. Custody, bond, charges and release status can change during the day, so use the live OCDC record for the final confirmation.

How to Run an Oklahoma County Jail Inmate Search

  1. Open the official OCDC inmate-search page. Use the button above rather than a paid people-search or mugshot website.
  2. Open the current jail roster. OCDC links its public JailTracker system from the official website.
  3. Search the inmate’s legal name. Use accurate spelling. If the person uses a suffix, hyphenated surname, former surname or different legal spelling, try those variations if the first search fails.
  4. Compare the result carefully. Do not rely on a name alone when multiple people have similar names. Compare available identifiers and booking information.
  5. Record the booking number. You may need it for mail, deposits, communication or when speaking with detention-center staff.
  6. Check the court record separately when necessary. Jail information reflects custody. The court docket is the better source for filed charges, hearings and case activity.
Recently arrested? A person may not appear immediately while arrest paperwork, fingerprinting, medical intake and booking are still being processed. If the arrest was very recent, retry the roster and verify the arresting agency before assuming the person is not at OCDC.

Oklahoma County Jail Search or Oklahoma State Prison Search?

This is one of the most common reasons people cannot find an inmate. The Oklahoma County jail roster and Oklahoma Department of Corrections database are different systems.

Situation Where to search
Recently arrested in Oklahoma County Oklahoma County Detention Center roster
Waiting for an Oklahoma County criminal case OCDC first, then the court docket
Serving a state-prison sentence Oklahoma Department of Corrections Offender Lookup
Released from the county jail Check the court case or OCDC records/blotter if the live roster no longer shows the person
Juvenile under 18 Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau; juvenile information may not be publicly searchable like the adult roster
Federal custody Use the federal Bureau of Prisons locator rather than OCDC or Oklahoma DOC

If the person has already entered Oklahoma state correctional custody, use the official Oklahoma DOC offender lookup. Searching OCDC repeatedly will not locate a person who has already transferred to state custody.

What You Can Learn From the Jail Lookup

The live roster is primarily a current-custody tool. Depending on the record and stage of booking, it can help you identify the inmate and review available booking, custody, charge or bond information.

Do not treat a jail listing as a complete criminal history or proof of guilt. A person may be held while awaiting a hearing, unable to post bond, serving a local sentence, held for another jurisdiction, or later released without a conviction.

If the Inmate Does Not Appear

A zero-result search does not always mean the person was never arrested. Work through these checks in order:

  • Confirm Oklahoma County. Make sure the arrest occurred in Oklahoma County rather than Cleveland, Canadian, Logan, Pottawatomie or another nearby county.
  • Allow for booking time. A new arrest can take time to appear in the public roster.
  • Retry the name. Test legal spelling, former surnames, compound names and suffixes.
  • Check for release. Someone who bonded out or was released may no longer appear as a current inmate.
  • Check Oklahoma DOC. A sentenced person may have transferred from county custody to state custody.
  • Check the court docket. A court case may still exist even when the person is no longer in jail.
  • Call OCDC. The detention center lists 405-907-1930 for inmate information.

How to Check Charges, Case Numbers and Court Dates

The jail roster and court record answer different questions. Use the jail roster to check custody. Use the Oklahoma court system when you need the filed criminal case, docket entries, hearings, disposition or other court activity.

  1. Find the inmate in the OCDC roster and note the full name and any case or booking information shown.
  2. Open the Oklahoma State Courts Network docket search.
  3. Search the person’s name or case number.
  4. Select Oklahoma County when narrowing the search, where applicable.
  5. Compare the case with the booking information before assuming it belongs to the same person.
  6. For copies or certified records, use the Oklahoma County Court Clerk rather than relying only on the online docket.

The Oklahoma County Court Clerk is located at 320 Robert S. Kerr Avenue, Room 500, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 and lists 405-713-1705 as its main number.

Bond and Release Information

If the roster displays a bond, confirm the current amount and conditions before paying anyone. Bond information can change after a judge reviews the case, additional charges are filed, a hold is added or a court order is entered.

Bond scam warning: OCDC currently warns families about scammers who impersonate detention-center employees, bondsmen or service organizations and demand payments through Cash App, wire transfers or other hard-to-recover methods. Do not trust caller ID by itself. Independently verify the inmate and bond through OCDC before sending money.

OCDC publishes current warrant and bond guidance at its Warrants & Bonds page.

Non-custodial warrant walk-thru process

OCDC states that the current walk-thru process is handled at the jail. Its published schedule beginning February 3, 2026 is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Participants are instructed to bring a valid state ID, a copy of the bond and any relevant court or attorney documentation.

Because schedules can be changed operationally, verify the current OCDC notice before traveling to the facility.

Phone Calls, Video Visits and Messages

OCDC currently uses NCIC for inmate communication services including phone calls, video visits, photos and text/video messaging.

Communication Current OCDC information
U.S. telephone calls $0.10 per minute
Calls to Mexico or Canada $0.25 per minute
International calls Rate varies by destination
Video/photos/messages Available through approved NCIC communication services and subject to facility monitoring and rules

OCDC prohibits communication content involving gang signs, weapons, drugs, alcohol, nudity, sexually suggestive material, graphic or abusive content and other material that creates a safety or security concern. The registered account should not be shared with another person.

Before scheduling communication, review the current OCDC NCIC communication rules.

How to Send Mail to an Oklahoma County Inmate

OCDC uses a mail-scanning process for ordinary personal correspondence. The currently published personal-mail format is:

Inmate Name
Booking #
Oklahoma County Detention Center
PO Box 591
Longview, TX 75606

Important OCDC mail rules include:

  • Include the inmate’s name, OCDC booking/ID number and your return address.
  • Mail must be no larger than 8.5 × 11 inches.
  • Maximum: 5 pages.
  • Only the front side is scanned, so do not write on the back.
  • Maximum: 1 photo per mailing.
  • Mail sent to the Texas scanning address is electronically delivered and the physical mail is destroyed after processing.
  • Do not send legal or medical mail to the scanning PO box.
  • Books, magazines, newspapers and bulk mail have separate rules and should not be sent to the personal-mail scanning address.

OCDC also lists digital messaging through NCIC. The currently published rates are $0.25 per message and $0.35 per picture.

Always check the official OCDC mail instructions immediately before mailing because correctional mail procedures can change.

How to Put Money on an Inmate Account

OCDC states that money may be added through NCIC or through the kiosk in the detention center’s front lobby during available lobby hours. Confirm the inmate’s correct booking information before depositing money so funds are not associated with the wrong person.

Commissary funds can be used for approved items such as food, hygiene products, paper, envelopes and stamps. Facility rules, spending limits and availability apply.

Never send money because an unsolicited caller claims an inmate must pay immediately for release, an ankle monitor, diversion program or special jail service. Verify the request independently through OCDC.

Medical or Quality-of-Life Concerns

OCDC maintains medical, dental and mental-health services for people in custody. The facility’s currently published medical-care fee is $15 for certain requests or assessments, while specified services such as intake nursing assessments and crisis-stabilization services are exempt. Care is provided regardless of the patient’s ability to pay.

Family members with a non-emergency quality-of-life or facility-resource concern can also contact the OCDC C.A.R.E. Unit at 405-504-6257. The unit assists with questions involving medical needs, commissary, hygiene, grievances, bonds, visitation, programs, chaplain services and release resources.

Need an Older Booking Record or Jail Document?

The live inmate search is not the same as an archive of every Oklahoma County arrest. If the person has already been released, use the record source that matches what you need.

You need Best starting point
Current inmate OCDC live roster
Recent jail booking information OCDC Daily Blotter
OCDC administrative or jail records OCDC / Oklahoma County open-records process
Filed criminal case OSCN and Oklahoma County Court Clerk
Arrest or police incident report The law-enforcement agency that made the arrest
State-prison record Oklahoma Department of Corrections

Before You Visit, Pay Bond, Send Money or Mail Anything

  • Confirm the inmate is still in OCDC custody.
  • Write down the correct booking/ID number.
  • Verify the current bond directly from an official source.
  • Check current communication or visitation rules before paying a vendor.
  • Verify the mail address because personal, legal and publication mail can follow different procedures.
  • Do not treat a third-party inmate page as more current than the OCDC live roster.
  • Use the court docket for case status; use the jail roster for custody status.
