Find a Canadian County Jail Inmate and Verify Current Custody
If someone was arrested in El Reno, Yukon, Mustang, Piedmont, Union City, Calumet, western Oklahoma City, or another part of Canadian County, start with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office inmate search. It is the primary public source for people currently held in the Canadian County Jail.
Information reviewed October 27, 2026. Jail custody, charges, bond, releases and facility rules can change during the day. Use the Sheriff’s live record for the final time-sensitive confirmation.
How to Search the Canadian County Jail Roster
- Open the official Sheriff’s inmate search. Go directly to ccsheriff.net/inmate-search.
- Use the “Search by Name” box. Start with the legal last name. Add the first name when several results appear.
- Try a shorter name variation if needed. Hyphenated surnames, suffixes, alternate spellings and compound names can produce different results.
- Open the matching booking record. Compare the booking date, charges and other identifiers rather than relying on the name alone.
- Save the PID or booking information. You may need it for mail, records requests, deposits or when calling the detention center.
- Check custody again before taking action. A person may be released, transferred or have bond information changed after you first search.
What the Sheriff’s search can show
The Sheriff’s public search is designed for current custody and displays inmates in booking-date order. Individual records can include the inmate’s booking information, charges and additional custody details. Treat charges as allegations attached to a booking, not as proof of conviction.
| Information | Why to check it |
|---|---|
| Full name | Helps distinguish people with similar names. |
| Booking date | Confirms whether the record matches the recent arrest you are researching. |
| Booking/PID number | Useful for jail services, correspondence and records questions. |
| Charges | Shows allegations recorded with the jail booking; court filings can later differ. |
| Custody status | Shows whether the person is still being held when the live record is checked. |
If You Cannot Find the Inmate
Work through these possibilities before assuming the person is not in custody:
- Booking is still being processed. Retry the live search later or call the jail.
- The name is entered differently. Search the surname alone or try a former, hyphenated or alternate spelling.
- The person was released. Check the Sheriff’s released-inmates page, which covers releases from the previous 72 hours.
- The arrest occurred in another county. Canadian County borders Oklahoma, Cleveland, Grady, Caddo, Blaine and Kingfisher counties.
- The inmate was transferred. A sentenced offender may later move into Oklahoma Department of Corrections custody.
- Another agency has a hold. A booking can involve warrants or holds from another county, state or federal agency.
- You need an older record. Current-custody pages are not complete historical arrest archives; use the Sheriff’s Records Division instead.
Current Roster, Recent Bookings and Releases
| What you need | Best official source | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Current inmate | Inmate Search | People presently shown in Canadian County Jail custody. |
| Today’s bookings | Daily Booking Report | Recent bookings, residence information and listed charges. |
| Recent booking activity | 72-Hour Booking Report | Bookings during the recent 72-hour reporting window. |
| Recently released inmate | Released Inmates | People released during the last 72 hours, with fields such as booking/release details, arresting agency, bail and reason released when available. |
This distinction matters. Someone who disappears from the current inmate roster may still appear on the recent-release page, while an older booking may require a records request instead.
How to Check Charges, Bond and Court Dates
The jail record answers the custody question. The Canadian County court record is the better source for filed criminal cases, docket activity, hearings and court documents.
- Find the correct inmate and write down the legal name, booking date and any case information shown.
- Open the Oklahoma State Courts Network docket search.
- Select Canadian County when narrowing the search.
- If you know the case number, search it directly. Otherwise search by last and first name.
- Open the matching case and compare the defendant information with the jail booking.
- Use available “Document Available” links for online documents. If a document is not online, contact the Canadian County Court Clerk.
The Canadian County Court Clerk notes that most cases before 1994 are not available through OSCN. The office also does not perform record searches by telephone.

If you plan to use a professional bondsman, the Sheriff’s Office publishes a current Canadian County bondsman list. Confirm the inmate’s current bond and any holds before paying anyone.
Get Custody-Status Alerts With OK VINE
Oklahoma VINE provides free, confidential custody-status information and notifications. Users can register for alerts when an offender’s custody status changes.
- VINE phone: 1-877-654-8463
- Online: VINELink
- Notifications can include phone, email, text, app or TTY options.
This is especially useful when you need to know about release or transfer rather than repeatedly refreshing the county roster.

Visitation and Inmate Communication
Remote video visitation
Canadian County uses Prodigy for online video visitation. Each visitor should create their own account. Prodigy customer support is 866-700-4545.
Remote visitation is not allowed during:
- 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
- 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
- 10:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
Visitors must be at least 18 or have a parent/legal guardian present. The Sheriff’s rules prohibit nudity, sexual content, unauthorized account sharing, three-way communication and specified inappropriate clothing.
Special out-of-state family visit
The Jail Administrator may authorize a one-time special visit for family traveling from outside Oklahoma. The published procedure requires contacting the Jail Administrator during regular Monday-Friday business hours and giving at least 24 hours’ notice.
Attorney visits
Attorneys should schedule at least 24 hours ahead through Judicial Services at 405-295-6216 or 405-434-2829. Attorney visits are not normally conducted during meal/shift-change periods or from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
How to Send Mail to a Canadian County Inmate
Canadian County Jail
Inmate’s Name and PID Number
304 N. Evans
El Reno, Oklahoma 73036
The jail uses Prodigy Correctional Services for electronic delivery of regular inmate mail. Mail is made available through the inmate kiosk system, and the Sheriff’s policy states that original mail and photos are not returned to the sender.
Important mail limits
- No more than 3 photos per envelope.
- Photos may not exceed 4 × 6 inches.
- No Polaroid photos.
- No staples, paper clips, stickers, stamps, stamped envelopes, blank envelopes or blank paper.
- No perfume, lipstick, laminated plastic or musical cards.
- No newspaper or magazine clippings.
- No internet printouts.
- Only single-ply greeting cards are allowed.
- The sender must sign the letter, and the signature must match the sender.
- Each adult sender must use a separate envelope.
- Do not mail inmate funds in ordinary correspondence.
Inmates may receive up to two paperback books per month when sent directly from a reputable online book distributor. Check the current Sheriff’s mail page before ordering because prohibited or excess items may be returned or discarded.
Review the current official mail and visitation rules.
Commissary and Inmate Deposits
Canadian County Sheriff’s Office currently uses Prodigy Solutions for commissary and web deposits.
- Confirm that the person is still in Canadian County custody.
- Get the inmate’s correct legal name and PID/booking information.
- Open the Prodigy service or use the kiosk in the jail lobby.
- Select the correct inmate before entering payment information.
- Review the provider fee and amount before submitting the transaction.
- Keep the confirmation or receipt.
The Sheriff’s commissary page states that money orders are not accepted. Online deposits can be made by debit or credit card; the lobby kiosk accepts cash and debit/credit cards. Money remaining in an inmate’s commissary account at release can be obtained only by the inmate.
The Sheriff’s page also publishes a weekly commissary-order cutoff. Because provider schedules and operational deadlines can change, verify the current cutoff in Prodigy before placing an order.
How to Request Older Jail or Sheriff’s Records
If a person has already been released and the information is no longer available through the live roster or 72-hour release page, contact the Canadian County Sheriff’s Records Division.
Copy: $0.25/page
Research: $20/hour
Fingerprints: $5/card
Audio/video media: $5/USB
The Sheriff’s Records page says completed records must be picked up in person and are not mailed, emailed or faxed. The current 2026 open-records form also says not to send payment until you are notified of the applicable fee and exact amount. Produced records that are not retrieved within 90 days of availability may be destroyed.
Open Sheriff’s Records instructions or download the current Open Record Request form (PDF).
Court record copies are separate
For filed criminal cases, use the Canadian County Court Clerk rather than the Sheriff’s Records Division. The county’s record-search instructions currently list a $5 mailed record-search fee when you do not know the case number, plus copy and certification charges. Most pre-1994 court cases require contacting the Court Clerk because they are not available through OSCN.
Canadian County Court Record Search Instructions
County Jail, Oklahoma DOC and Federal Custody Are Different
| Situation | Where to search |
|---|---|
| Currently held in Canadian County Jail | Canadian County Sheriff inmate search |
| Released from Canadian County Jail within 72 hours | Canadian County released inmates |
| Sentenced/transferred to Oklahoma state corrections | Oklahoma DOC Offender Lookup |
| Federal inmate | Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator |
| Criminal court case | OSCN Court Dockets |
This distinction is important in El Reno because the city also has federal correctional facilities. A federal prisoner will not necessarily appear in the Canadian County Jail roster.
