Find an Adams County Jail Inmate and Check Current Custody Details
If you are trying to find someone who may be in the Adams County Detention Facility, start with the Adams County Sheriff’s official inmate database. The search accepts a first name, last name or both, and the Sheriff specifically recommends entering only the first few letters when an exact-name search does not work.
Use the Sheriff’s database for current Adams County detention information instead of relying on a third-party inmate directory.

How to Search the Adams County Jail Roster
- Open the official Adams County Sheriff inmate search.
- Enter the inmate’s first name, last name or both.
- If the exact spelling returns nothing, enter only the first few letters. The Sheriff recommends this for broader results.
- Review all matching names instead of assuming the first result is the correct person.
- Compare available identifiers and note the booking information or other identifying numbers shown for the correct inmate.
- Use the booking information when arranging mail, deposits, bond or other jail services.
- If a recent arrest still does not appear and you need immediate confirmation, call the Detention Facility at 303-654-1850.
An arrest, jail booking or listed charge does not establish that a person was convicted. For later hearings, case status or the final disposition, use the Colorado court record rather than the jail roster alone.

Adams County Detention Facility Address and Contact
Adams County Detention Facility150 North 19th Avenue
Brighton, CO 80601
Phone: 303-654-1850
Facility: Open 24/7
The Sheriff’s Jail Division houses people awaiting court proceedings as well as inmates who have been sentenced and are waiting for transfer to another facility.
The Sheriff’s administrative headquarters is at 4430 South Adams County Parkway in Brighton. It is a different location. Bonding, inmate custody and other detention questions should be directed to the Detention Facility unless the Sheriff specifically instructs otherwise.
Bond and Release Information
Always locate the inmate first and confirm the current bond situation before paying anything. An inmate can have more than one case, bond, hold or release condition.
In-person bond payment
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office currently accepts cash, money order or cashier’s check for in-person bond payments at the Detention Facility, 150 North 19th Avenue in Brighton. Money orders and cashier’s checks should be made payable to the Clerk of the Court.
Online bond
Start from the Sheriff’s official bond page rather than bookmarking a payment company. The current Sheriff page states that Genesis eBONDS became the online surety-bond provider effective September 9, 2026. Vendors and payment procedures can change.
Important Colorado bond rights
The Sheriff’s official money-bond rights sheet states that only the bond amount is required to secure release on a money bond. It also explains limits on bond-related fees and release timing.
- A separate booking fee or other inmate debt does not have to be paid to secure release on a money bond.
- The rights sheet lists a $10 bond fee and a maximum 3.5% credit-card payment fee as charges that may remain as debt after release if not paid at bonding.
- The sheet states that additional bond-related kiosk or cash, check and money-order fees may not be charged.
- It also describes a six-hour release requirement after qualifying bond conditions are met, unless extraordinary circumstances exist, with a possible longer period when required electronic monitoring must be fitted.
- A person posting a money bond has the right to receive bond paperwork that includes the next upcoming court date.
Read the official Adams County bond-rights sheet.
Bond status is legal and time-sensitive information. Confirm the current amount and any holds with the jail before traveling or paying.
Visitation, Video Calls and Phone Calls
As checked on October 15, 2026, the Adams County Sheriff’s current visitation page says in-person visitation is not available. Remote video visitation and phone service are provided through HomeWAV.
| Service | Current Sheriff information |
|---|---|
| Remote video | $0.19 per minute, maximum 30-minute call |
| Phone call | $0.12 per minute |
| Remote visit hours | 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m.–5:45 p.m.; 7:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m., seven days a week |
| Max & Intake evening cutoff | 9:00 p.m. |
Times are local to the facility in Colorado. Create the provider account, select Adams County Detention Facility and the correct inmate, then fund the account as required. The inmate initiates the video call.
Check the Sheriff’s current visitation page before scheduling.
How to Put Money on an Inmate Account
Money placed in an inmate trust account can be used for approved commissary and tablet services. Adams County currently provides several deposit methods.
- Cash: Use the kiosk at the Detention Center visitor entrance.
- Credit card: The Sheriff directs online card deposits through Access Secured Deposits and also lists phone deposits at 866-345-1884.
- Money order: Make it payable to ACDF or Adams County Detention Facility and drop it at the main office at the visitor entrance. The Sheriff says the money is credited the next business day.
The Sheriff’s current inmate-funds page states that inmates are assessed a $30 booking fee and money deposited into the inmate’s account may automatically be applied toward that fee.
Adams County also uses ViaPath for inmate tablets. Tablet purchases can draw from the inmate’s trust account.
How to Send Mail to an Adams County Inmate
Use the inmate’s full name and booking ID. The Sheriff’s mail policy lists this address:
Adams County Detention Facility
PO Box 5001
Brighton, CO 80601
Important current mail rules include:
- Send inmate mail through the United States Postal Service.
- Do not leave inmate mail at the facility front desk.
- USPS Express Mail is the method listed by the Sheriff for overnight delivery.
- General return addresses must be handwritten unless the sender is a commercial, nonprofit or government entity.
- An inmate may receive up to 10 photos, with a maximum size of 5×7 inches.
- Up to 10 pages of permitted internet material may be mailed.
- The current detailed policy says magazines and magazine subscriptions are not allowed.
- Up to two compliant paperback books may be mailed at one time under the Sheriff’s publication rules.
- Cash and personal checks are prohibited in inmate mail.
- Stamps, loose stationery, stickers, gift cards, food, Polaroid photos, laminated items, glitter and similar prohibited materials can cause mail to be rejected.
- Legal or privileged mail is handled differently from general mail and is opened in the inmate’s presence.
If mail is rejected, the Sheriff’s policy provides an appeal process. The sender can email ACSOMailAppeal@adamssheriffco.gov within 21 days of the rejection mailing date.

How to Request Inmate Records or a Mugshot
The live inmate search is useful for current custody lookup, but it is not a replacement for an official records request. Adams County provides a separate Inmate Records Release Form for more detailed records.
The form allows requests for items including:
- Custody letters
- Medical records
- SRP/GPS records
- Intake records
- Grievance records
- Classification or disciplinary records
- Video recordings from secured areas, subject to the stated retention period
The current inmate-records form states that recordings from secured areas have a 30-day retention period from the incident date. If video is important, do not wait unnecessarily to make the request.
Current Sheriff records fees
| Record | Published fee |
|---|---|
| Jail / medical record search | $5 per record searched, plus $0.25 per page for retrieval/redaction |
| Mugshot | $2 per mugshot |
| Background & custody letter | $10 |
| Custom request | $41.37 per hour; first hour free |
| Audio/video/photo research, redaction & processing | $41.37 per hour if available, one-hour minimum, plus removable-media cost |
| Removable media | $20 per item |
The inmate-records form states that a $5 deposit is required in advance to process requests. Completed forms can be emailed to recordsrequest@adamssheriffco.gov. Records not picked up within 30 days after completion may be destroyed.
If records are being released to a third party, the form requires the inmate authorization section and states that the inmate’s signature must be notarized.

Need the Court Case Instead of the Jail Record?

If the Person Does Not Appear in the Inmate Search
- Search only the last name.
- Try the first few letters instead of the full spelling.
- Check alternate, hyphenated or recently changed surnames.
- Confirm that the arrest actually occurred in Adams County rather than Denver, Arapahoe, Broomfield or another nearby jurisdiction.
- For a very recent arrest, call 303-654-1850 if immediate confirmation is necessary.
- If the person was already released or transferred, a current-jail lookup may no longer answer the question you are researching.
- For an older arrest or incarceration period, use the Sheriff’s inmate-records request instead of relying only on the current search.
- If you need the criminal case outcome, check Adams County court records.
If the arrest may have occurred in a neighboring jurisdiction, our Arapahoe County jail inmate search guide covers the official Arapahoe County lookup separately.
Warrant Search Is Different From Jail Inmate Search
A warrant search asks whether the Adams County Sheriff’s Office has a listed warrant. An inmate search asks whether the person is currently being held in the Detention Facility. They are not the same record.
For Adams County warrant questions, the Sheriff lists the Warrants Section at 720-322-1325, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Property Release
The Sheriff’s inmate-services page currently lists regular inmate property releases on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Emergency property releases require approval from a duty sergeant.
For inmates sentenced to the Colorado Department of Corrections, the Sheriff says property may be released for up to 15 days after the inmate has been released from the Adams County facility.
Use Jail Information Carefully
Custody status can change, names can match more than one person, and charges listed at booking can change later in court. Verify identity before acting on a record and use the official court system when the final legal outcome matters.
